With the world map up at the top, these eight street fighters sat in their respective squares in the exact same order as they appear now in Street Fighter 6, over 30 years later. The original Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior saw its launch in arcades back on February 6, 1991, and with it came its iconic character select screen. Old school fans can probably already see that these eight contenders are actually organized in the same order as they were back in Street Fighter 2. Honda, Blanka, Guile, Ken, Chun-Li, Zangief, and Dhalsim. The remaining eight slots are occupied by the original eight world warriors: Ryu, E. It's the last two rows that are particularly special, though.

Starting from the top, we have Luke and Jamie, followed by Manon, Kimberly, Marisa, and Lily in the next row, then JP, Juri, Dee Jay, and Cammy beneath them.

The upcoming title's character screen organizes its 18 launch characters into rows of four, with two of the game's newcomers sitting at the top in a smaller row of two.
